New Horizons for Workplace Giving Month

The Australian Charities Fund’s (ACF) has launched its 2014 Workplace Giving Month campaign with the ambitious goal of engaging 12 million Australians.
“Toward one million donors” was unveiled to more than 150 employers and charities ahead of Workplace Giving Month in June.
The campaign will focus on communication and see industry leaders, including Commonwealth Bank and Seek, using their business and communication channels to promote workplace giving.
Jenny Geddes, CEO of The Australian Charities Fund, said the organisation was on a mission to help working Australians understand that giving to society through their workplace is a smarter way to give.
“Through the support of our charity and business networks, we want to unlock the enormous potential of this smart way to give and see one million Australians donating through their workplaces by 2020,” she said.
“Workplace Giving Month campaigns get great results, with businesses increasing participation rates by an average 30 per cent, building employee engagement and driving social impact.”
Geddes said workplace giving was a powerful service for business, working Australians and a benefit to the whole of society that tapped into three key issues:

An an ever increasing need for charities to access low cost, regular funding;

Businesses wanting to be great places to work and engage their employees, customers and other stakeholders in community investment to drive business success;

Australians wanting easy, low cost, high impact ways to give – knowing their donations will get to where they’re needed and not be absorbed by high fundraising costs.
ACF will also recognise and celebrate the achievements of employers and charities through the Workplace Giving Month Awards program.
The organisation is encouraging business and charities to access free resources, including employer and charity guides, videos and campaign collateral, to grow participation in existing programs.
