The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) has appointed two new members to its leadership team.
Professor Roger Simnett has been named as Academic Director and Corinne Kemp has been named as appointed Director of Engagement and Events.
As Academic Director, Prof Simnett will work across the CSI’s four university partners to create a cutting edge research program in social impact – in line with the Centre’s social impact framework. Prof Simnett will take on the Academic Director role in a half-time capacity, continuing as Scientia Professor at the Australian School of Business.
“I am excited to welcome Roger, Corinne and our events team to CSI,” CSI Chief Executive Officer Dr Andrew Young said.
“Both Roger and Corinne bring with them wealth of experience that will be crucial to us fulfilling our role as knowledge champions, educators and convenors of thought leadership on tackling the biggest social challenges in Australia, with a vision for building a stronger social system for everyone.”
Prof Simnett has demonstrated his commitment to sustainability and social impact in the field of accounting and auditing through research and publications in top-level journals, membership of the technical task force of the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC), Chairing the Sustainability Expert Advisory Panel of the International Federation of Accountants and Co-chairing the task force producing an assurance standard on Carbon Emission disclosures for the IAASB. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia.
He will also carry the title of Macquarie Group Foundation Chair. The Macquarie Group Foundation has backed CSI since its inception and made the Academic Director position possible.
New Director of Engagement and Events Kemp is the founder and director of events agency DKC International and will bring her team, Christine Mamone and Lyssa Borham, to CSI.
Kemp has more than 15 years of experience in social impact, federal policy and programs, and engagement to CSI, and chairs the Australian Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is a Director of the Sydney Community Foundation.
