Social Enterprise Fundraising Guide

The School for Social Entrepreneurs Australia has launched a free fundraising guide for social enterprises and Not for Profits.
The 'how to' guide was created by SSE Australia as a resource for social entrepreneurs to complement what they learn from experts and their peers in the organisation’s social enterprise learning programs.
The organisation says the guide will also be a handy resource for the community sector more broadly.
"Fundraising can be one of the most daunting things when starting out as a social entrepreneur. Therefore we wanted to create an online public resource that was relevant to what is going on in Australia and how you can go about achieving fundraising success," SSE Australia Development Manager, Ben Jeffreys said.
“Surveys of students from the School for Social Entrepreneurs show that when they are starting their enterprise, asking others for money can make them feel anxious, vulnerable and confronted.
"We realised that we could take the information that we were covering in our programs and through 'A Guide To Fundraising' create a public resource that cuts through to what makes fundraising successful."
To celebrate the launch of A Guide To Fundraising, SSE Australia and crowdfunding platform Chuffed will be hosting a series of free fundraising workshops in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
The workshops will cover the fundraising concepts within the fundraising guide, as well as sessions on crowdfunding and relationship fundraising.
"We hear constantly that fundraising is both difficult and people feel overwhelmed. We saw that what we covered in our programs would be a great resource for the public in not just achieving success, but in supporting people to be effective fundraisers," Jeffreys said.
