The high-profile CEO of depression Not for Profit beyondblue, Kate Carnell has resigned after two years in the job.
beyondblue Chairman Jeff Kennett AC said Carnell, who was also a former ACT Chief Minister, has resigned from beyondblue and will leave the organisation in May.
Carnell will take up the role of CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
“The appointment of Kate Carnell as CEO of beyondblue was always for a period of up to three years,” Jeff Kennett said.
“Kate leaves beyondblue in a much stronger position than when she was appointed CEO, and she has helped develop a solid strategic direction for the organisation.
“Kate has had a long association with beyondblue, first as Deputy Chair and more recently as CEO.
“A search has already started for her replacement.”
Carnell was appointed Deputy Chair of beyondblue in August 2008 before becoming CEO in March 2012.
“I have loved my time as CEO of beyondblue. It is a fantastic organisation and the commitment of its staff is amazing," Carnell said.
“It is great that ACCI already has a strong relationship with beyondblue and I hope to continue creating mentally healthy workplaces in my new role.”
The previous CEO of beyondblue, Dawn O’Neil clashed with the Chair Jeff Kennett and resigned after nine months in the role.
