New Charity Joins with Insurer to Fund Emergency Relief

Insurance provider, Ansvar, has announced a strategic alliance with a new emergency aid charity called Fine Green Paddock which will assist Australians affected by natural disasters.

Ansvar says as the Foundation Partner with Fine Green Paddock it will aim to raise up to $12 million in relief funds for the Foundation, on an annual basis.

Fine Green Paddock says it was formed following an “extraordinary year” of natural disasters including flooding and fires in Australia in 2011, and hopes to drive innovation in the fundraising sphere and help families and individuals in Australia affected by the immediate and longer-term effects of local natural disasters.

An inaugural fundraising event – a music and lifestyle festival called One Great Night on Earth – will be held in regional Victoria in December 2012 and Ansvar says 100 per cent of the ticket sales from the expected 80,000 to 100,000 attendees to be donated directly to the Fund for disbursement to Australians in need.

Set up as a public fund for persons in “necessitous circumstances”, Fine Green Paddock says it sets itself apart from other charities and fundraising foundations by creating its own proactive model for annual fundraising, rather than relying on donations.

Chairman and Public Officer at Fine Green Paddock, Peta Garside, said: “It was recognised by the founders of Fine Green Paddock that Australians have been suffering from charity fatigue as a result of constant natural disasters occurring around the country.”

“In creating the soon-to-be-announced event, we wanted to give something back to those who generously donate time and time again.”

Garside said that the event will culminate in over two years of planning and relied on the “dedicated” support of an established organisation such as Ansvar Insurance.

“Our values and the philosophical pillars Fine Green Paddock has been founded on, offer clear and logical alignment with the reputation and brand pillars of Ansvar Insurance. As our Foundation Partner, their core values of integrity, responsibility and accountability fit powerfully with our vision,” Garside said.

Ansvar Insurance said that the new partnership allows Ansvar to refresh its brand positioning in Australia.

“By association Ansvar Insurance has the opportunity to reaffirm to our clients and intermediary partners our values and true commitment to the community,” chief executive of Ansvar Australasia, Andrew Moon said.

“We’ve operated in the Australian insurance market for more than 50 years and are proud of the heritage we have in contributing to the community.

“I have every confidence this worthwhile partnership will re-invigorate the Ansvar Insurance brand across all our core segments,” Moon said.
