National Disability Insurance Scheme campaign group Every Australian Counts is looking for social media-savy volunteers to take on the role of bloggers, tweeters and status updaters from the upcoming The National Disability and Carer Congress in Melbourne.

National Disability Insurance Scheme campaign group Every Australian Counts is looking for social media-savy volunteers to take on the role of bloggers, tweeters and status updaters from the upcoming The National Disability and Carer Congress in Melbourne.

The Every Australian Counts Congress Champions will blog, tweet and post facebook status updates from the the Congress to keep the more than 12,000 campaign followers up to date with what’s happening at the congress.

Every Australian Counts is offering a free registration to one person (and their carer if required) from each state and territory to attend the National Disability and Carer Congress (worth up to $600), to be held in Melbourne on 2 – 3 May 2011. Congress Champions must be able to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.

The National Disability and Carer Congress is billed as the largest gathering of people with a disability, their families and carers in Australia, and offers attendees the chance to hear from Australian of the year Simon McKeon, ABC Ramp Up editor Stella Young, as well as politicians and disability experts.

So if you think you have what it takes to be an Every Australian Counts Congress Champion visit http://everyaustraliancounts.com.au/congress_champions_nominations/ and in 140 words explain why you would be good for the role.

Nominations close on Sunday, April 10th, with voting taking place on the Every Australian Counts website (http://www.everyaustraliancounts.com.au) from Monday 11th April to Wednesday 20th April, with the winners announced on Thursday 21st April.
