The Organisation:                 
Located in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, our client provides support to the disadvantaged people within the community. It does this by providing personalised assistance to individuals, accommodation, and advocacy on behalf of those who need it.

The Role:              
Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, the Facilities and Assets Manager is a hands-on, stand-alone role and is responsible for the strategic review, implementation, execution, and maintenance of all the organisation’s office sites, including the provision of facility management services, associated infrastructure and motor vehicle fleet management. 

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage and maintain day-to-day building, facilities and infrastructure management as well as the fleet portfolio.
  • Negotiate, manage new and existing leasing arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with funding, contractual, legislative and policy requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain compliance and risk management procedures in accordance with national and state regulations, funding and contractual requirements, including Essential Safety Measures, OH&S, emergency management, fire, flood and asbestos management.
  • Manage the operations of the fleet car-pool booking system, fuel card replacement, process of traffic infringements and insurance claims and other fleet related activities.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual budget and monitor operational expenditures to ensure facilities, fleet and asset operations are within budget.
  • Prepare regular facilities, fleet and assets management reports and KPI progress for varied internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage all trades, contractors and service technicians for maintenance and raised work requests in line with policy requirements.
  • Review, update and create documented facilities, assets and fleet services practices and procedures to develop a quality and consistent high level of service.

The Person:
To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Demonstrated strong experience in facilities management, planning and maintenance as well as fleet management.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management operations, industry best practice, building codes and legislative requirements relating to facilities management, including Emergency Management and essential safety measures and OHS.
  • Demonstrated strong service focussed with a positive can-do attitude, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong experience in positive relationship management with varied internal and external stakeholders focused on identifying and building key stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing/supervising the delivery of subcontractors to on-budget and on-time deliverables.
  • Strong contract management and adhering to contractual commitments with government and other bodies.
  • Superior negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong focus on data analysis to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated business planning and high-level financial knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/ innovative approach to problems and opportunities.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy and able to manage and priorities competing demands.

The Offer:

A salary of up to $110K plus Superannuation is on offer. In addition, you will be able to access attractive PBI/NFP salary packaging and remote working options.
