Melba Support Services is actively recruiting for a Senior Advisor – Diversity & Inclusion on a 6-month Fixed Term Part Time basis (0.8), located in our Scoresby or Lilydale office and working remotely (Hybrid Working).
Melba has a reputation for delivering human rights-based disability services to our community across Victoria. We are about to embark on a journey of implementing our Board Approved D&I Strategy to ensure we realise the goal of reflecting the diversity of our community in our workforce. Using your lived experience and by sharing your insights you will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve this.

Key Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team, finalise and oversee the implementation of our Disability Employment Strategy
- Working as part of a team, finalise and oversee the implementation of our Diversity Action Plan including our Age and Gender Employment Strategy, CALD Employment Strategy, LGBTQI+ Employment Strategy, Targeted Positions Policy, Flexible Working Arrangements Policy, Workplace Adjustments Policy and Reasonable Adjustments Policy
- Become the central contact point for advice, feedback and escalation of issues around access, inclusion and diversity for our workforce
- Work with external bodies to achieve accreditation including, reconciliation groups, CALD, LGBTQI+ representative groups and diverse talent pipelines such as Disability Employment Agencies
- Review existing policies, procedures, and documents to ensure that they reflect and include equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion goals.
- Drive educational campaigns & workshops for our workforce to increase understanding and awareness around D&I.
About You
- Able to draw from your own lived and/or living experience to contribute to a broad range of D&I Initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to service excellence, human rights, and zero tolerance
- Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to relate to and influence people at all levels within the organisation
- High-level written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- High-level organisational and time management skills including a proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work autonomously
- A flexible, positive and self-motivated attitude
