Submissions Open for Vic Services Connect Trials

The Victorian Government has called for submissions from Not for Profits interested in taking part in the trials of the eight new Services Connect sites.
According to the Government, Services Connect is designed to connect people with the right support, and a more effective way of delivering human services such as child protection, disability, housing, homelessness, family services, mental health and alcohol and drug treatment work together, particularly for people and families with complex needs.
It said the call for submissions process would identify partnership of service providers with a strong desire to create more integrated, seamless service response that people experiencing family violence and other vulnerable Victorians need.
The Government said it had committed $9 million over two years to expand the partnership to the community sector. About $30 million has already been committed to develop and deliver the Services Connect model.
Minister for Community Services Mary Wooldridge said the community sector delivered the vast majority of services in Victoria and their involvement in Services Connect was a critical step forward.
“To date Services Connect has primarily been tested with clients of DHS, however taking the next step of working in partnership with the community sector to implement Services Connect is tremendously exciting for both government and the sector,” Wooldridge said.
Wooldridge said this was a new way of working, both for government and the community sector, and over the next two years the government would be seeking to test, refine and enhance the Services Connect Partnerships in local communities.
The Government said it was looking for community sector organisations that offer expertise across a range of services, such as child protection, family services, social housing, homelessness, family violence, mental health, alcohol and drug treatment and disability services.
The Advertised Call for Submissions will be open until August 14. The Advertised Call for Submissions – Services Connect Partnerships document can be downloaded from www.tenders.vic.gov.au.
