Hyundai Reveals ‘Help for Kids’ Recipients

The Hyundai Motor Company in Australia has announced four initial recipients of its recently established $1.5 million philanthropic program called Hyundai Help for Kids.

Not for Profit organisations Ronald McDonald House, Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, Clown Doctors and Little Wings will join three existing programs as inaugural beneficiaries of the Hyundai initiative.

In January 2104, the Australian arm of the Hyundai Motor Company announced plans to grant close to $1.5 million to Not for Profit organisations that support Australian youth in 2014.

The car giant announced a joint initiative with Hyundai’s Australian Dealer Network with the establishment of the “Hyundai Help for Kids” program.

“Hyundai Help for Kids” is part of Hyundai Motor Company’s global Corporate Social Responsibility movement, called “Moving the World Together”, which the car manufacturer says aims to contribute to the development and welfare of local communities around the world.

Hyundai says that to date, at the completion of the program’s first quarter, over $341,130 has been raised via 50:50 Hyundai and Hyundai Dealer Network contributions made from every vehicle sold in Australia from 1st January.

The company says a range of organisations focused on providing help for children and the families who support them through sport, culture, education, health, community engagement, and social welfare are selected from applications evaluated quarterly throughout the year.

The four organisations will receive financial and vehicle support to assist with their ongoing programs to assist young people.

Hyundai says it has already committed assistance to a number of welfare programs for young Australians. Since 2007, it says the Hyundai Goals for Grassroots program has seen over 182 soccer clubs share $462,000 to date, providing financial assistance to junior players around the country and helping to encourage children to enjoy a healthier lifestyle through the game of football.

The Kids Tennis Foundation received a donation of $40,000 earlier this year via the Hyundai Hopman Cup Aces program and the Hyundai HyTech Donation Program sees Hyundai Motor Company Australia partner with TAFE Colleges and high schools around the country.
