Community and public sector “veteran” Paul Linossier has been appointed to lead the national Foundation to Prevent Violence Against Women and their Children.

The move is one of a number of major job announcements this week.

Linossier will be the inaugural CEO of the Foundation, which was established in July this year by the Victorian and Federal Governments as the lead national body to inform, educate and empower the community to end violence against women and their children.

Foundation Chair Natasha Stott Despoja said Linossier was a highly regarded leader in family and children’s welfare and the Board looked forward to working with him in the pursuit of community change and meaningful action against violence.

“We need all Australians to reject violence against women; community attitudes must change,” she said.

“Paul’s experience and leadership will be vital to ensuring the Foundation makes a real impact in reducing violence against women and their children.”

Linossier said the Foundation had a real opportunity to “build the fence at the top of the cliff, to stop hurt and trauma”.

“I am honoured to take on such an important role,” he said.

“We have a big job ahead of us if we are to deliver tangible change and prevent violence in the Australian community.

“I look forward to working in partnership with business, government and the broader community to ensure we achieve our goal of a nation free from violence against women and their children.”

Linossier, who has been the interim CEO, will lead a small team promoting best practice prevention strategies and developing strong partnerships with the corporate and philanthropic sectors, providing a focus for collaboration across the sector.

Linossier is trained in social work, and has an Executive Masters in Public Administration. His background and experience includes work in the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development (DEECD) as  Executive Director, Early Childhood Development and Executive Director, Vulnerable Children’s Strategy. He was also CEO of MacKillop Family Services.

Outcome Australia Puts Renowned Expert at Helm

Not for Profit solutions organisation Outcomes Australia has also appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.

Dr Maria Paul Gomez, an expert in managing the implementation of world-leading programs, will join Outcomes Australia in January. The organisation is dedicated to identifying world’s best practice solutions that, with the right implementation, will lead to significant benefits for all Australians.

“It is fitting then that our CEO is an internationally renowned expert. Dr Maria Paula Gomez was a key member of the leadership team that developed one of the world’s best public health reform programs and she has driven major change programs in many international jurisdictions,” Major General Michael Jeffery, chairman of Outcomes, said.

“Her particular expertise is well suited to implementing the objectives of Outcomes Australia. The Board and I look forward to working with her.”

Originally from Colombia, Dr Gomez has played a key role in both the program development and the international roll out of Spain’s world-leading organ donation and transplantation system.

Dr Gomez will oversee all Outcomes programs including ShareLife, which addresses the reform of processes to improve Australia’s deceased organ and tissue transplant rates; Soils for Life, which encourages the wide adoption of regenerative landscape management practices and BetterOff, which is focused on reversing the trend of obesity in Australia.

“I’m excited to take on this role and to work closely with the Outcomes Australia network, as well as the leaders in Australian health, agriculture, environment and community sectors,” Dr Gomez said.

“There is much great work being done, and an opportunity to do more. I welcome the challenge.”

Moore moves into ShareGift’s Top Job

ShareGift’s new Executive Officer Bianca Moore has already taken the reins.

ShareGift Australia’s mission is to make it easy and cost effective for people to support the community by donating their shares to charity.

Moore has more than 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry focusing primarily on building partnerships between corporate and community organisations and managing key employee engagement programs.

Former Executive Officer Andrea Broom will continue her involvement as a Non-Executive Board Member.

ShareGift Australia Chairman Christopher Thorn expressed his gratitude for Broom’s motivation and commitment over the past three years.

“Under Andrea’s leadership, our organisation has continued to grow as we endeavour to become an integral part of the social infrastructure within the finance industry. We are in an exciting stage at ShareGift Australia and I am looking forward to the next phase with Bianca at the helm,” Thorn said.
