World’s Best Not for Profit Videos

The 5th Annual DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards, aimed at showcasing how Not for Profit organisations around the world can use video to spread their message, are now open for public voting.

The Award organisers say for NFPs, video is a great way to share their mission, message and goals. The Awards promote the use of video as a way for NFPs to educate the public, make others aware of issues, progress that’s being made and the work that still needs to be done.

The 2011 Awards feature 4 categories – small organisation, medium organisation, large organisation and best ‘thrifty video’ for videos produced for less than $500.

This year’s awards received over 1,350 submissions from over 800 NFPs, making the task of picking finalists particularly difficult for the judges. View the finalists here.

There are 16 finalists across 4 categories, with the winners to be decided by public voting. To vote, log into your YouTube account, visit the contest website here, and vote “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” by the end of March 14th.

The Awards are put on by See3 Communications, a communications agency working exclusively with NFPs and causes and YouTube – the world’s most popular online video sharing website and supported by the Case Foundation, Flip Video and the Nonprofit Technology Network.

This year’s four winners will receive a US $2500 grant from the Case Foundation, a video camera from Flip Video, free registration to the 2012 NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference.

The winners will be announced at this year’s NTEN conference, and the winning videos will be features on YouTube’s homepage.

Last year’s winning videos:

  • Best Small Organization Video category  “Darius Goes West—A DVD in EVERY SCHOOL!” by Darius Goes West
