Free Guide Helps NFPs Online Visibility

UK-based Internet Advertising Bureau has published a free guide to help Not for Profit organisations become more visible online.
The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), the trade association for online advertising in the UK, has launched the guide Search Toolkit for Charities and Public Sector to help NFPs understand search engines and make their websites easier to find.
The IAB says that 89% of active internet users use search engines, with 81% of internet users entering websites via search engines. In the UK, almost 2 billion searches are conducted each month.
The IAB says the low entry cost and measurability of search marketing makes it one of the most-cost effective media for NFPs.
The guide, which uses case studies from the Not for Profit sector, gives detailed information on search engine optimisation (SEO), paid search (PPC), universal search (search involving video, maps, news etc.) and search and social media.
Search engine optimisation is the process of making websites easier to find using internet search engines, such as Google or Bing.
The guide provides tips on getting to know the audience, useful tools, setting targets and agreeing budgets for paid search, integrating search with other media, landing page optimisation, advanced search techniques and judging and evaluating the success of search campaigns.
The guide also includes a list of links and resources on digital media best practice for NFPs.
