You are a senior practitioner, and therefore, we want you to bring your extensive knowledge and experience across family services and family violence to the role so you can guide and support others in the team. Referrals will come via The Orange Door and from across other programs.
Position Objective:
Provide child-centered, family-focused case management support to families with complex needs who are experiencing high-risk family violence.
Provides family violence consultations & co-works to Family Services Practitioners within the program.
Works collaboratively with the Child and Family Services Alliance for system and practice improvements
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or related field with a minimum 3 years in working with families experiencing family violence.
- Advanced understanding and experience in applying contemporary family violence theoretical frameworks in the intervention with vulnerable children, young people and parents with complex needs. Experience in working with parents who use violence and adolescent violence in the home.
- Ability to provide consultation and capacity build other practitioners in their work with families who are experiencing family violence
- Demonstrated awareness and commitment to working within the ‘Best Interest Principles’ outlined within the Child, Youth and Families Act 2005 and a sound understanding of the Victorian Child Protection system. Demonstrated resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma, violence or neglect.
- Demonstrated experience in actively engaging vulnerable children, young people, and families, particularly those who are reluctant to use support services, utilising a child-focused family-centred approach.
- Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
