Recognising the sector’s excellence in technology

Infoxchange calls on the not-for-profit sector to nominate worthy recipients for this year’s Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards.
Nominations are open for the 2023 Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards, which recognise the best in technology innovation and excellence across the not-for-profit sector.
The awards acknowledge the accomplishments of both organisations and individuals, and as a result, the improvements made to a product or service for the community through the use of technology.
David Spriggs, CEO of technology not for profit and social enterprise Infoxchange, said he is “looking forward to recognising achievements in both the tech and not-for-profit sectors”.
Spriggs joins an impressive sector-led judging panel for this year’s awards, sitting alongside Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation CEO Catherine Brown OAM; Community Council for Australia CEO David Crosbie; and Google.org global advocacy senior director and Asia Pacific head Annie Lewin.
The awards will be presented across the following nine categories, which include the newly-added Best Use of Data for Community Impact Award that recognises the innovative use of data to achieve significant impact in the not-for-profit sector.
- Best Accidental IT Person
- Best Social Media Campaign of the Year
- Best Technology Achievement by a First Nations Person
- Technology Volunteer of the Year
- Best Use of Data for Community Impact Award
- Technology for Community Impact Award (Private Sector)
- Technology for Community Impact Award (Government Sector)
- Not-For-Profit Technology Innovator of the Year
- Not-For-Profit Technology Lifetime Service Award
“The categories are broad and give an opportunity for organisations and individuals alike to be nominated,” continued Spriggs.
“If you have someone in mind for one of these categories, we strongly recommend you nominate them so they can be recognised for their contribution. Self-nominations are also welcomed and encouraged.”
The awards will be presented at the Tech Awards Gala on Thursday 11 May, as part of the Connecting Up Conference, which sees high-profile speakers including ACNC commissioner Sue Woodward AM share their insights and knowledge with the not-for-profit community.
Last year’s awards saw over 70 nominations celebrating the contributions of the sector, including impact-focused legal service Justice Connect which took out the 2022 NFP Tech Innovator of the Year award.
Nominations for the 2023 Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards are open online until 5pm, Friday 31 March.
