B Corp month takes you behind the scenes

If you’re a B Corp, March can only mean one thing — it’s B Corp month.

Every year, throughout March the global B Corp community comes together to celebrate the power and impact of business as a force for good.

This year’s theme is Behind the B, and anyone who’s part of, or interested in, the movement is invited to step behind the scenes and learn more about what it means to have the B Corp logo attached to your business.

Through a series of events, masterclasses, talks and community-driven content, B Corps across Australia and New Zealand will be able to share stories at community drinks, and learn from other B Corps in workshops on supply chains, sustainability, marketing and communications and people and culture.

Even after the disruption of the past two years, the global B Corp movement has continued to grow, demonstrating that there’s never been a better time to put purpose at the heart of a business.

The theme “Behind the B” was chosen as a way of showing people exactly what a purpose-driven business looks like, whether that’s a peek behind the scenes of one of Australia and New Zealand’s many B Corps, or what goes into the process of becoming B Corp certified.

Our personal relationship to the movement

Pro Bono Australia is proud to be one of Australia’s first B Corps and is now one of 4,688 companies certified in over 78 countries and in 155 different industries.

As a news organisation, we are passionate about telling the stories of how businesses across Australia and New Zealand are continuing to make an impact.

Over the past 12 months, we have reported on the movement in a number of different ways. We kicked off our own “why we became a B Corp” series and talked to brands like T2, ecostore and the one-woman B Corp – photographer Marnie Hawson. We’ve reported on the launch of B Lab’s new governance model and celebrated the equity raise, and acquisition, of prominent beauty B Corps Kester Black and Flora and Fauna, respectively.

We’ve talked about the formation of the B Beauty coalition and the launch of the, recently B Corp certified, sustainability shopping app Greener.

This year, we’ve had conversations with too many inspiring B Corps to count and when we look beyond B Corp month we know there are plenty more to come.
