‘We believe we’re a force for good in the industry’
2 September 2020 at 8:20 am
Smarter Impact is back. This month, Philip Bateman is talking to Andy McCarthy about why the future is solar.
McCarthy is the CEO and founder of Gippsland Solar, one of Victoria’s largest solar panel and battery installers, which was recently acquired by RACV and rebranded to become RACV Solar. He is also a lifelong advocate for renewables.
With increasing debate about what the economy will look like post-COVID and talk from the government about a gas-led recovery sparking concerns among environmentalists, the interview offers a timely conversation around the potential of renewables to play a part in the transition to the next economy.
McCarthy talks about his social license to operate, the legacy he wants to leave, the opportunities for jobs across all sectors of the community in renewables, and the importance of appreciating things from other perspectives.
