A Scottish pop star has taken a unique approach to raise money for charity – auctioning off Oreo biscuits he’s personally twisted, licked and dunked in milk.

Lewis Capaldi – best known for his smash hit “Someone You Loved” – recently offered up the “only pack of Oreo cookies that [his] tongue has been all over” on eBay to raise money for Nordoff Robbins, the UK’s largest independent music therapy charity.

The saliva-ridden biscuits were presented in an autographed frame which contain an Oreo packet with Capaldi’s face on it.

“I’m gonna lick them like there’s no tomorrow, for you,” Capaldi said in a video promoting the auction.

“You can buy these Oreos that I have put my tongue across.

Joanna Dias, senior brand manager of Mondelez (which owns Oreo), said: “We know that people love anything touched by someone famous, and as one of the most talked about music stars of 2019, we felt Lewis Capaldi was the perfect choice to create a buzz around Oreo and the iconic twist lick dunk ritual.”

There were 49 bids on the one-of-a-kind Oreos, which eventually sold last week for £2,050 (A$3,708).

Nordoff Robbins will use the money to help enrich the lives of people with life-limiting illnesses, disabilities and feelings of isolation through music.
