Connecting Up Puts Best ‘Face’ Forward at Workplace for Good Roadshow

Connecting Up will be supporting Facebook’s three-stop Workplace for Good Roadshow as it visits Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland in August.

The Workplace for Good Roadshow demonstrates how organisations like Save the Children, UNICEF and Comic Relief have changed the way they work through the platform, which is free for registered not for profits and educational staff.

The first roadshow event takes place in Sydney on Thursday 2 August, before heading to Melbourne on Friday 3 August, and finishing in Auckland on Tuesday 7 August.

The Workplace platform increases the capability of organisations by bringing next-generation technology to field workers with mobile apps, providing secure collaborative spaces, integrating existing intranet and file-sharing tools, and facilitating “FYI” groups and Live video for organisation-wide announcements.

Roadshow attendees will also have the opportunity to discover some of the latest tips and examples of how organisations are using Facebook to improve their fundraising and digital storytelling.

Connecting Up’s acting chief executive officer Sandra Vallance said the Workplace platform provided an array of functions and opportunities that might otherwise not be available to not for profits and which could increase their impact.

“Through our support for Facebook’s Workplace platform, Connecting Up is helping to increase the digital capability and life-changing impact of our sector,” Vallance said.

“We are excited to be joining our fellow not for profits at the Workplace for Good Roadshow and looking forward to learning from the experiences of organisations currently using the platform.”

Global head of Workplace for Good, Annette Gevaert, will be in Australia and New Zealand for all three roadshow events.

She said Facebook was proud to be able to donate work tools to support the important work of Australian and New Zealand charities and educational organisations to achieve their missions.

“At Workplace for Good we believe the greatest work has the greatest purpose, and we are excited to have this opportunity to help teams connect, collaborate and create change in their communities,” Gevaert said.

“Ever since we launched Workplace we have been overwhelmed by the great interest and feedback from nonprofits of all sizes, all around the world.

“We’re incredibly excited to be able to share that message in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, which will guide organisations to get the best possible use out of the Workplace platform.”
