Awards Recognising Leadership in Shared Value Are Now Open

Applications are now open for Shared Value Project’s 2017 Shared Value Awards.
Now it is second year the annual awards seek to recognise companies, civil society organisations, and government agencies in the region who are driving shared value projects or adopting a shared value framework into their core practice.
A spokesperson for Shared Value Project said shared value, defined as policies and practices that enhance the competitiveness of companies while improving social and environmental outcomes, has grown throughout Australia.
“With the growth of the shared value community in Australasia, and the pace of change in the movement globally, it is important to celebrate local success stories,” the spokesperson said.
“The Shared Value Awards recognise new or existing efforts to address complex social challenges impacting society whilst creating measurable economic benefits and enhancing competitiveness.”
The 2017 awards will be divided into five categories; corporate organisation leading through shared value, civil society organisation leading through shared value, shared value project by an organisation or collaboration, shared value champion and shared value organisation to watch.
Prior winners include IGA, Suncorp Group, Good Shepherd Microfinance, AIA Australia, The Kwale Cotton Project and Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop.
Applications are open now until 8 August with five winners, judged by a selection committee chaired by AFR BOSS editor Joanne Gray, to be announced in Sydney in October 2017.
