Small Australian charities are being given the chance to get a free education boost.
Fundraising consultancy and social enterprise Fish Community Solutions has announced its Fish Scholarship for small charities is back for the fourth year.
The scholarship offers one winner a place in the Fundraising Institute of Australia’s Fundraising Essentials full day course.
Fish Community Solutions founder and director Bianca Crocker said the scholarship was about encouraging the sustainable growth for small Australian charities.
“We’re committed to advancing the charity sector by building the capabilities and skills of people within it through the provision of education, coaching, strategic advice and support,” Crocker said.
“Every fundraiser knows that professional development is vital to successful fundraising outcomes, but sometimes for small organisations there just isn’t a budget available for such things.
“We firmly believe in the power of education and hope that with the Fish Scholarship we can help someone from a small charity develop additional skills, and really learn the theory behind the practice.”
The scholarship is open to applicants with less than five years’ professional experience, from charities with annual revenue less than $500,000.
Applications open on 19 June and close midnight 9 July 2017. To apply or for more information see here.
