Australia Post Community Grants

Australia Post’s latest Community Grants program is offering one-off cash payments of up to $10,000 to Not for Profit organisations working at the grass root community level.
“The Our Neighbourhood Community Grants program recognises the important role smaller charities and community groups across the country play in building connections for people who are excluded or isolated,” Australia Post’s General Manager of Community Relations, Andrea Pearman, said.
“By providing funding of up to $10,000 per project, the program gives a helping hand to community organisations working to build a more inclusive and connected society.
Pearman said the grants would focus on supporting local community groups that often get overlooked for funding elsewhere.
“We live in a world that’s more connected than ever, but it’s still the things happening in our streets, in our neighbourhoods and in our communities that often have the biggest impact,” she said.
“At Australia Post, we believe in the power of communities. We understand the importance of local projects and we are passionate about supporting local groups that bring people together and build lasting connections within communities and neighbourhoods.”
Australia Post said the 2016 grants would be awarded to community organisations and projects that focus on digital capability (projects that build digital skills for individuals and the wider community), employment pathways (projects that increase employment opportunities for marginalised people), community inclusion (projects that build community spirit and foster inclusion and disaster readiness.
“While we recognise the value of the thousands of different causes and projects around the country, we focus our resources on these four key areas where we think we can make the biggest impact,” Pearman said.
Grants are funded from both Australia Post and the Our Neighbourhood Trust. Applications close on Friday 1 April 2016.
