New CEO of Australian Red Cross

Australian Red Cross has revealed who will be taking on the job of CEO, almost five months after the resignation of Robert Tickner from the top job.
Judy Slatyer will officially become CEO in February next year after more than five years as head of Lonely Planet Publications.
For the past seven years Slatyer has been based in Switzerland where she worked as COO for the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
She will be replacing Robert Tickner, who stood down from Red Cross after more than a decade as CEO.
Tickner said at the time that he was looking forward to exploring new life opportunities.
Australian Red Cross President, Michael Legge, said Slatyer had an outstanding track record and was ideally suited for her challenging new role.
“I am confident her diverse background of experience and perspectives will underpin her success as our CEO,” Legge said.
“Last year Red Cross celebrated our Centenary of service in Australia and Judy is the ideal person to lead us as we continue to respond to rapidly changing humanitarian needs in our second century of service to the Australian community and beyond.”
Australian Red Cross Blood Service CEO, Jennifer Williams, will continue as acting CEO until Slatyer starts in February.
