PwC Launches Volunteering Platform & Workshops
15 October 2015 at 9:17 am

PwC has recently announced the launch of its new digital volunteering platform and is inviting Not for Profit, social enterprise and for-purpose community organisations to be part of it.

The platform, built in house by PwC Digital Services, enables eligible organisations to tap into the diverse skill sets of its 5,500 people across the country to help power positive change. PwC staff can spend up to 15 hours on skilled volunteering each year.

Eligible organisations can register their details and upcoming needs on the platform. PwC staff create a profile listing their skills and interests.  The platform then matches the skills of PwC staff to the needs of organisations and PwC volunteers receive an email notification outlining the opportunities that match their profile. PwC staff will also be able to browse all volunteering opportunities and sign up directly.

PwC labels the offering a “full-service” volunteering program designed to support everything from micro-volunteering where jobs can be completed online to enabling access to individuals or teams to deliver jobs on the ground.  As long as the project can be managed within the 15 hour time frame per individual PwC is happy to profile the opportunity.

Also supported through the platform is a new initiative called PwC Workshops. PwC Workshops are free informal learning and development opportunities available to staff of eligible organisations. Led by PwC staff, the workshops will be held around the country at PwC offices.

Topics may range from sharing technical skills in Microsoft Excel to strategic partnerships, risk management, presentation skills, social media, financial management, budgeting and forecasting, real estate management, coaching skills and many things in between.

The opportunities are endless and PwC is also encouraging organisations to put forward requests.  PwC Workshops are also managed through the new PwC Volunteering platform and organisations that are registered on the platform will receive notifications of upcoming workshops.
