The Liveable Communities Grants program is offering $1 million in funding per year for four years to fund projects that improve the lives of older people living in NSW.
The NSW Government Grants of up to $100,000 are available for creative initiatives that make it easier for older people to live active, independent, healthy lives and access their community freely and safely.
“By 2030 around 20 per cent of the Australian population will be over 65 years of age, and new solutions are needed to respond to this challenge,” the Government said.
“The NSW Government created the Liveable Communities Grants program to capture the energy of Australian innovators and focus it on defining what it will mean to age well in the 21st century.
“The grants program provides opportunities for individuals and organisations to explore new possibilities and improve outcomes for older people.
“We will support a range of ideas for new and improved programs, platforms and ventures that will help older people to live, learn, care, share, contribute and connect.”
Applications for the Liveable Communities Grants program are now open.
Grant applications must be submitted via the SmartyGrants website by Thursday 12 November 2015 at 11:59pm. Read the Liveable Communities Grants Guidelines (PDF).
