Creative Partnerships Australia is offering matched funding for independent artists who have a project to fund with a crowdfunding campaign in mind.
Applications are open to individual artist and groups for a new round of MATCH, Creative Partnerships Australia's dollar-for-dollar matched funding program.
MATCH helps artists and groups identify and secure private sector support, fund their artistic projects and build a sustainable arts practice.
“MATCH empowers and supports artists to find new donors and networks, grow their revenue streams and further develop their fundraising skills,” Creative Partnerships Australia CEO, Fiona Menzies, said.
“While the artistic project you’re looking to fund is important, the key to success in the MATCH program is your fundraising strategy. This is where the Creative Partnerships programs team comes in – they can provide advice and guidance on developing a successful campaign.”
To be eligible, artists must be able to undertake a crowdfunding campaign between February and May 2016. Campaigns can be run through Creative Partnerships’ collective funding platform for Australian artists, the Australian Cultural Fund, or any other crowdfunding platform.
If successful, Creative Partnerships said it would match any private sector funding raised through a project’s crowdfunding campaign up to a total of $10,000 per project.
Fifty-seven crowdfunding campaigns were supported and more than 150 artists took part in the 2014/15 program, raising more than $380,000 for their projects.
Menzies said that with MATCH funding from Creative Partnerships, more than $711,000 was injected into the Australian arts sector.
Applications are open until 4 December 2015.
Creative Partnerships Australia is supported by the Australian Government through the Ministry for the Arts.
