$1.1 Million in Grants for Rural and Regional Communities

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) has announced that its six grant programs are making more than $1.1 million available to rural, regional and remote communities.

FRRR CEO, Alexandra Gartmann, said the funding was available across a wide range of programs for a broad range of geographies and purposes.

“FRRR’s grant programs are built around the needs of communities and the interests of particular donors. They are funded by collaborations between generous trusts, foundations, companies and individuals who share our belief in the ability of rural communities to achieve relevant outcomes, with just a little help,” Gartmann said.

“The $1 million we have available will make a big difference to hundreds of communities and we are very grateful to our donors for their support.

“With several programs open in this first quarter, community groups can apply to the program that they think will best suit their needs. It also gives us more flexibility to redirect applications between programs, if we think they have a stronger chance of being successful.”

Gartmann said it was important that groups read the guidelines for each program carefully.

“Each program is slightly different – either in the amount it can grant; the targeted communities and geographies it supports; or the issue the funds can be used for. So it’s critical that groups planning to apply for a grant read the guidelines carefully. It’s also worthwhile looking back at the kinds of projects that we’ve funded in the past,” she said.

The six grant programs that are now open are listed below. Further details, including the guidelines and application forms, are available by visiting www.frrr.org.au.
