A rare opportunity has arisen for a suitable charitable organisation to occupy an historic 45-bedroom residence – Casa Elda Vaccari, a stunning, heritage listed property in Fitzroy North.
The Gualtiero Vaccari Foundation invites charitable organisations to register their interest in leasing Casa Elda Vaccari.
The property is available for a long term lease (up to 25 years) at a nominal rate for the right Not for Profit organisation.
Casa Elda Vaccari was built in 1915 and was originally used as a power substation. The heritage-listed building underwent a stunning transformation and became a 45 bed low-care residential facility accommodating the local Italian community for more than 20 years.
Situated at 863 Brunswick Street North, Fitzroy North, the premises are now available for lease. The Gualtiero Vaccari Foundation invites organisations to develop and submit a proposal to create a new chapter in the future for Casa Elda Vaccari.
As part of the commitment to the wider community, the intention of The Gualtiero Vaccari Foundation is to find the perfect tenant who clearly articulates their vision in creating a new future for Casa Elda Vaccari.
The Gualtiero Vaccari Foundation will consider significant financial concessions to the right organisation. The suitable tenant will be a registered charity and may come from various community sectors, not limited to healthcare, respite care, family services, training and education and community services.
The Foundation proposes to undertake an Expression of Interest (EOI) process from 3rd November 2014 to 30th January 2015 to identify an appropriate prospective leasing organisation.
Shortlisting of candidates will occur in mid-February with interviews of short-listed candidates occurring in late February to early March 2015.
Organisations that are listed with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) can register to take part in the EOI process at www.casaelda.org
Occupancy terms are subject to negotiation and approval of the trustees of The Gualtiero Vaccari Foundation.
