SITA Community Grants

The first round of the inaugural Community Grant Program by national waste management company SITA Australia (SITA) is open for applications for grants between $500 and $5000.
Applications close on Friday 31 January, 2014.
SITA says grants are available to support a wide range of community organisations, committed to increasing participation in social and environmental projects.
SITA Australia is a sustainable resource recovery management company with over 2,100 employees and contractors, 850 collection vehicles and 100 operations across Australia.
SITA provides the essential service of recycling and waste management to more than 3.7 million Australian residents and 56,000 businesses every week.
SITA Managing Director, Eric Gernath said the Community Grant Program is a fantastic opportunity for local organisations to receive financial assistance to continue the positive impact they make in their local communities.
“SITA’s Community Grants program will support a diverse range of organisations.
“We’re looking for organisations and projects that improve the quality of the local environment, inspire participation in sustainable activities through education, contribute to improved health and wellbeing or encourage recreation and community building,” Gernath said.
“We are aware of the important role grass roots organisations play in contributing to the sustainability of local communities and we look forward to contributing to these organisations.
“SITA has a long history of supporting a range of community initiatives and is committed to long- term positive outcomes in the communities in which we operate,” Gernath said.
SITA launched the national community grant program for the waste and resource recovery industry in Australia in October 2013.
The first round of applications for grants will close at 5.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time on 31 January 2014.
