Scaling Up Workplace Giving

The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has launched a new online Workplace Giving platform, called Good2Give.
“Good2Give is CAF’s new online platform to facilitate workplace giving on a scale not seen before in Australia,” Charities Aid Foundation CEO Lisa Grinham said.
“Good2Give is a fully integrated online system supported by CAF’s established back-end infrastructure for collecting and distributing donations. Good2Give provides a choice of thousands of charities for donations, simplifies corporate payroll, accounting and reporting and reduces charity administration while giving charities access to donors.
“Before Good2Give, workplace giving was a largely manual process for employees and employers – often involving little choice of charity, paper forms and complicated interactions with the payroll department.
“Charities have felt disconnected from their donors because they only see money arriving from employers without knowing who actually made the donation.
“CAF wants to grow annual Workplace Giving from $50 million to $200 million by 2017.
“Workplace Giving is the most cost effective way for charities to raise money. Employees sacrifice a small amount of money from their wage or salary and donate it to their charity of choice.
“The money is deducted before tax and often employers match employee donations, up to a certain limit, to supercharge the power of each individual donation. There is usually little or no cost to the charity for this kind of fundraising.
“Donating through Workplace Giving and Good2Give means that a charity has a regular income stream instead of lumps of capital turning up here and there through the year so they can commit to ongoing programs without risking cashflow problems,” Grinham said.
