Applications are open for a training and education scholarship program aimed at boosting the economic well-being of women.
The $100,000 program was created by Not for Profit job-ready organisation Dress for Success and Vocational Education and Training (VET) organisation Australasian College Broadway.
It is offering three scholarships to women in the Sydney region to undergo training.
Dress for Success Founder and Chair Megan Etheridge said the scholarships were open to students who have completed year 10 or are at least 17 years old.
“These scholarships are aligned with our mission to promote the economic independence of women in need by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life,” she said.
Australasian College Founder and CEO Maureen Houssein-Mustafa OAM said the $100,000 in scholarships would enable Sydney women to access industry qualifications in a variety of fields including beauty or makeup, giving them a head start to their career.
“The Australasian College Broadway has already welcomed one scholarship student into our community. She is thriving in our educational environment and we look forward to the three successful candidates joining the College to pursue their dreams,” she said.
To be eligible, applicants will need to have received a Dress For Success Service, submit 250 words on why they wish to be selected for a scholarship and be able to commit to a study program (3-5 full days for between 12-18 months).
Applications close September 6.
