Vic Community Bank Grants Open
3 July 2013 at 3:03 pm

A number of Victorian community grants programs are open for funding applications via the Community Enterprise Foundation – the philanthropic arm of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group.

Since 2005, the Foundation says it has worked closely with Bendigo Bank’s network of community and charitable partners with the aim of bringing together local people who care about their community.

The Windsor & Prahran Community Grants program opens on July 10 and will support programs and projects in the Windsor & Prahran area. This community bank has returned $820,000 to community projects since 2004.

Charitable and Not for Profit organisations can apply for projects and activities that offer clear public benefit for communities, contributing to their development in building social capital, community welfare, environmental, health, education or cultural areas.

A further eight community grants across metropolitan and regional Victoria are also available via the Foundation.

Bendigo Bank Community Bank branches are locally owned and operated and function as a franchise of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

“When the local branch begins to make a regular operating surplus and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s share of the revenue is received, the remaining funds are available to be reinvested back into the community through dividends to shareholders and grants to community groups and projects,” the Community Bank website said.

“The number of Community Bank branches has doubled across Australia in the past four years with more than $100 million in profits being returned to community projects.”
