Re-establishing peak body, Volunteering Australia has begun the search for a new Chief Executive Officer to be based in Canberra.
Maureen Cane from Volunteering ACT has been in the caretaker position to ensure a smooth transition to the national capital after the closure of the Melbourne headquarters in June 2012.
“This is an exciting time for Volunteering Australia and as the national peak body for the advancement of volunteering, we are encouraged by this move and the opportunities it presents,” President of the Board of Volunteering Australia Paul Lynch said at the time.
"As a Not for Profit organisation, we will continue to represent the diverse views and needs of the volunteering sector whilst providing public policy advice for Government, which will be made easier by positioning our office in Canberra.”
Volunteering Australia describes its mission as advancing volunteering in the Australian community and to represent the diverse views and needs of the volunteering sector while promoting the activity of volunteering as one of enduring social, cultural and economic value.
Volunteering Australia’s Board is inviting interested parties to submit expressions of interest via email: vaceo@volunteeringaustralia.org
Formal application details will be outlined in an information pack and will close at midnight on Wednesday, June 26 2013.
