Tailored Apps for Aussie Charities

Mobile aggregation App, GiveEasy has launched ‘Apps for Charities’ – allowing charities across Australia the ability to have their own branded App.
The Smith Family – a national charity that supports disadvantaged children with their education – is one of the first Not for Profits to unveil a bespoke fundraising App via the GiveEasy platform.
The Smith Family Giving App, which can be downloaded in the App store, is expected to be the precursor for more charities to be "in their donors pockets”,” according to the GiveEasy team. |
The original free mobile donation app, GiveEasy, launched as a Not for Profit venture in 2012 and won a national innovation award presented by The Australian newspaper and Shell as part of their annual Innovation Challenge in December 2012.
The GiveEasy Platform links to Facebook and Twitter and allows mobile users to search and select charities and appeals with donations being made in real-time via a credit card.
The Smith Family was the foundation charity on board with the GiveEasy App.
“Now, with the release of the white labelled Smith Family App, we are going out to the sector with the ability for charities to have their own tailored App in the Apple store,” GiveEasy’s Business Development Manager Jeremy Tobias said.
“This is a significant development and changes the game for charities as it provides a new donation channel for them to collect donations and interact with their donors. They also have the chance to be at the forefront of technology.
“We have been saying for some time that GiveEasy is not just an App, but a whole platform and the release of The Smith Family App as well as the Gold Telethon App a couple of months ago for the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation's Telethon verifies this.”
The Apps have the charities' chosen names in the Apple store, their own chosen graphics text, and videos – all which can be changed very quickly.
“Importantly the app has full donation capability and tailored receipts (as well as the ability for their donors to post their donation to facebook and twitter), welcome emails, the ability to send push notifications whenever they want to their donor base and once a donor has entered their details they never have to enter them in again.
“A charity's own tailored App will allow them to connect with their donors at appeal time or at other times through the power of push notifications. Push notifications are read on average 99.7% of the time.”
The tailored apps are being managed via the new website here.
