Emerging Indigenous Leadership

The Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership is looking to appoint its next two emerging leaders for those applicants who are at the beginning of their leadership journey.
The Fellowship provides support to recognised leaders and opportunities to emerging leaders within Victoria's Indigenous communities. Building Indigenous leadership is an important way of improving the social and emotional well being of communities, and the Fellowship helps Indigenous communities to develop innovative responses to current issues and future challenges.
The Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership have on offer two Emerging Leaderships positions and welcome expressions of interest from all backgrounds (e.g. arts, community, business, health, sport, etc).
Those taking part in the program will have access to mentoring, professional and personal development and the opportunity to improve their leadership skills as well as a $30,000 grant over a period of 12 months to assist with:
- The development of identified personal & professional development goals.
- Planning and implementing a project that will benefit their community.
- Applicants should have identified goals/objectives within a specific identified sector (i.e., arts, community, business, environment, education, health, media, sport etc) with knowledge of the required resources to implement and achieve the goals/objectives.
The Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership was established in 2003 as a vehicle for positive change in Victoria's Indigenous community.
Through the provision of financial support, networking opportunities and professional development to appointed Fellows and Emerging Leaders, the Fellowship says it empowers Indigenous leaders to focus their drive and energy in areas of importance identified by Victoria's Indigenous community.
The closing date for applications is close of business Monday, 1st July, 2013.
