Talent Pool Open for Young Entrepreneurs

A new scheme that will partner budding social entrepreneurs with business professional mentors has been launched by the School for Social Entrepreneurs.

The Talent Pool program is said to provides social entrepreneurs with ‘crucial’ support they need to navigate the challenges of starting new enterprises.

Customer owned bank, bankmecu, is a supporting partner of the program and its General Manager of Development and General Manager of Lending and Personal Banking have been appointed as mentors.

“The Talent Pool encourages the development of social ventures by providing entrepreneurs with the skills and guidance they need to achieve their goals,” General Manager of Development Rowan Dowland said.

“Through this program, social entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to learn from business leaders who will share their experience and knowledge which is vital for their journey ahead.”

The School for Social Entrepreneurs Chief Executive Celia Hodson said The Talent Pool provides social entrepreneurs with support they need to be successful when establishing their own start-ups.

“Students are given the opportunity to learn from skilled and experienced business leaders and will receive one-on-one support and encouragement,” Hodson said.

“At the same time, Talent Pool mentors and experts will be stretched and grow as professionals as they work side-by-side with social entrepreneurs who are committed to creating new initiatives which address social and environmental challenges in their communities,” she said.

The School for Social Entrepreneurs is a national provider of learning programs dedicated to the personal and professional development of Australia’s social entrepreneurs and their ventures.
