Local Communities to Benefit from New Grants

The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation (CCAF) is calling for applications for its first round of the 2013 Community Grants program.

With as many as 40 Community Grants of up to $10,000 on offer each year, Chair of the Coca Cola Foundation, Julie White, has encouraged community groups to consider applying.

CCAF says that the grants have resulted in significant impact for the recipient organisations in the past.

“The program awards financial support to local organisations and projects that aim to make a positive difference in the lives of marginalised young Australians,” White said.

According to CCAF, the grants focus on four core areas of marginalisation, including social/ economic, indigenous youth, physical/geographic, as well as mental health issues.

The Foundation says it hopes to inspire change in areas of education, leadership, wellbeing and environment.

It says that the Grants program attracts approximately 30 per cent of CCAF’s annual $1.1 million funding. The remaining funding supports a National Grants program, working with partners on a larger scale.

Grant applications are open online and close on March 30, 2013.

“We encourage all organisations that support marginalised youth to apply for a Coca-Cola Australia Foundation Community Grant,” White said.

“Together we can make a positive difference in the lives of young Australians -assisting them to fulfil their greatest potential as individuals will invariably impact positively on their wider communities.”
