Love is in the air even for Aussie Not for Profits as they take advantage of the Valentine’s Day message.

Oxfam Australia and UNICEF Australia are both offering Aussie men the chance to impress their partners with a quirky gift that helps others in need with a chicken or piglet card.

Oxfam Australia Director of Public Engagement Gregg Vines said the gifts were perfect for people who wanted to give a Valentine’s gift that made a difference and offered men a great way to show their caring side

“There’s no better way to show your caring side than with an Oxfam Unwrapped Valentine’s card that helps poor communities out of poverty,” Vines said.

“Nearly four out of five Oxfam Unwrapped customers are female, so it’s clear that women love these gifts.”

$11 can buy storybooks for disadvantaged children on the other side of the world and $97 can buy a bicycle, which is particularly helpful for health workers to reach vulnerable children in remote communities.UNICEF Australia are also offering their range of Inspired Gifts that offer an alternative to standard flowers and chocolates.

Even the National Disability Insurance Scheme is not immune from the love theme!

The online Every Australian Counts campaign to promote the NDIS is inviting their Twitter followers to ‘show the love’ by retweeting their ‘LOVE NDIS’ big red graphic on micro-blogging site, Twitter.

And Kevin Rudd says his Valentine's Day message is to support the Not for Profit HeartKids via this video message.
