Not for Profits are being invited to take part in a Capacity Building Initiative – a no-cost mentor program for organisations wanting to increase their abilities and raise their philanthropic funding results.

Approved applicants will be awarded a grant by either The Pratt Foundation, for NSW-based charities or the Ian Potter Foundation for Victoria-based charities that equals and offsets the cost of the independent mentor.

The Capacity Building Initiative is a fully funded peer-mentorship program that provides continuing professional development, training and education for Not for Profits looking to build up and sustain strong fund raising practices.

Program Presenter, Paul Leventhal, says charities are empowered to follow through with a sophisticated cultivation strategy leading to a high degree of success in revenue generation.

“The Capacity Building Initiative is committed to providing Not for Profit organisations with a wide range of fundraising tools, methods, information and technical assistance together with connections to multiple sources of potential funding support,” Leventhal said.

“This is achieved through varied strategies agreed between the participant and the peer-mentor who serves ”hands-on” in weekly meetings for around 10 months after which support is provided on an ad-hoc basis.”

The CBI has interest in developing the social sector in all of its diversity and variety, and recognises the value of the Third Sector in enhancing society by addressing its short and long term challenges.

“Together with our broad interest areas, we especially encourage charities addressing indigenous issues as well as autism as it affects children and youth to contact us,” Leventhal said.

Applications close on the March 31 and application forms can be found at
www.capacitybuilding.com.au and clicking through to the “Application Process” page.
