Not for Profit organisations in Melbourne can now apply for the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation (LMCF) 2013 grants program.
To be eligible to apply organisations must be endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and be endorsed as a Tax Concession Charity (TCC).
Applications for funding can be made in four categories including: Survive and Thrive, Capacity Building, Direct Aid & Equipment and Major Grants.
LMCF chief executive Catherine Brown said that the categories have been designed to provide funding that will develop and support organisational development, building capacity and capability within Not for Profit organisations, research, and the development and delivery of services.
“In 2012, the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation provided grants of $9.2 million to 450 charitable organisations working in a range of social needs areas,” Brown said.
“This year’s program structure provides a range of opportunities for charitable Not for Profit organisations to apply for funding.”
Established in 1923, the Foundation supports small charities working closely within their local communities, as well as innovative programs and organisations that work to increase life opportunities, promote social inclusion and improve quality of life.
The LMCF says that Not for Profit organisations in youth, ageing, homelessness, community and preventative health, the environment, and arts and heritage are encouraged to apply.
Applications for the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation 2013 Grants Program are now open and close March 15, 2013.
