Queensland Ballet Flies With New Partnership

Virgin Australia has partnered with the Queensland Ballet, in a deal set to connect people and dance across the state.
The partnership with Queensland Ballet, described as one of the nation's leading performing arts companies, will allow allow the ensemble to perform in more locations across the state and increase its community access programs.
Under the partnership, Virgin Australia will become the official airline and season partner of Queensland Ballet, commencing in 2013.
QBLEARN, the Youth and Education program of Queensland Ballet, aims to engage, enhance and inspire by bringing the world of dance to potential rising stars, wherever they are located.
“Our aim is to provide a clear career pathway through intensive training and to produce dancers whose talent and abilities are internationally sought after,” says a statement from their website.
Virgin Australia General Manager Michael Betteridge said that 2013 would be a landmark year for the Queensland Ballet.
“We are very proud to be partnering with a company that makes such an important contribution to performing arts in Australia, at such an exciting time in its evolution, and we look forward to a spectacular 2013 season,” Betteridge said.
Queensland Ballet CEO Anna Marsden said she was delighted about the partnership.
“The partnership will enable us to achieve our vision of connecting people and dance across the state,” she said.
“It means we will be able to bring our performances to more people in regional Queensland and also deliver more education and community activities across the state.”
