One of Victoria’s private philanthropic trusts, Gandel Philanthropy, has announced that applications are now open for its 2012-13 communityassist grants.
Allocated towards eight specific areas of interest, the communityassist grants are aimed at supporting the delivery of programs that are of a smaller scale and can usually be completed within 12 months.
Gandel Philanthropy says that the maximum amount that can be applied for is $40,000, generally envisaged to be a one-off grant for a defined purpose.
The eight areas of interest are:
- Arts & Culture
- Education
- Health & Medical Research
- Community Development
- Social Cohesion & Inclusion
- Poverty & Disadvantage
- Environment
- Emergency Response & Recovery
Gandel Philanthropy chief executive Vedran Drakulic said that through the communityassist grants, Gandel Philanthropy aims to continue providing support to address the immediate and ongoing needs in the community, both in the traditional as well as some new areas of interest.
“We are committed to playing our part in helping meet the needs of those less fortunate in our community, and making a positive and lasting difference in people’s lives,” Drakulic said.
Organisations wanting to apply must be endorsed as a deductible-gift recipient (DGR), covered under Item 1 of the Tax Act.
Potential applicants should contact Gandel Philanthropy on info@gandelphilanthropy.org.au to obtain the communityassist Grant Guidelines and the communityassist Application Form documents.
