Australian charities have the chance to fulfil their ‘dreams’ and pocket some money by submitting those dreams to an online initiative.
Australian super fund, Sunsuper is awarding a $5000 grants to a charity whose 'dream' gets the most votes.
Sunsuper’s Dreams for a better world program invites people to submit their dreams through their website so that visitors to the site can vote for their favourite dream.
The dream with the most votes at the end of each month will be awarded a $5,000 grant to their nominated charity or local organisation.
Sunsuper says the initiative is all about doing something positive for the community in a “really meaningful way” giving individuals, groups and organisations the opportunity to help realise their dream for a better world.
Sunsuper’s General Manager Customer Experience, Teifi Whatley, said that the competition was open to dreams about “arts and culture, the environment, education, community health, sports or some other local or social issue that needs addressing”.
“We invite anyone who has an Australian-based dream they think will help make the world a better place or benefit the community in some way to submit a dream,” Whatley said.
Dream-makers are encouraged to get their family and friends involved through Facebook and Twitter as well as voting on the Sunsuper Dreams website.
The initiative was launched in January 2011.
So far grants have benefited the Stillbirth Foundation of Australia, Southern River Animal Protection Society, The James King Brain Tumor Appeal and Knitting for Brisbane’s Needy.
Voting and dream submissions for the October round of Sunsuper’s Dreams for a better world initiative ends at 4.59pm (AEST) on Wednesday October 31, 2012.
