The Australia Business Arts Foundation says its volunteering programs have connected 1,260 business professionals to the arts with an in-kind value of over $9million.
AbaF says National Volunteer Week is not only a great time to recognise the incredible contribution made by the 6 million Australians who volunteer, but also an opportunity to highlight and explore other areas of volunteering.
AbaF’s says its volunteering services introduce business professionals to a new creative world of volunteering with the arts.
In partnership with Woodside, AbaF’s Woodside Better Business program includes two business volunteering services, adviceBank and boardBank.
adviceBank matches business volunteers with art organisations to work on specific business projects and boardBank works with business professionals who are keen to offer their time and experience to boards of Not for Profit arts organisations.
“Volunteering their time and expertise to the arts offers business people a chance to build their professional capacities in a creative environment whilst sharing business knowledge and skills to help build dynamic and sustainable arts organisations, says AbaF CEO, Jane Haley.
Each year AbaF honours and recognises the contribution of business volunteering with the arts in presenting the Woodside Better Business Award at the annual AbaF Awards. The award is open to any business volunteers or board members who have helped achieve significant outcomes for arts and cultural organisations.
Over the past year, 170 business professionals have donated their time and knowledge through AbaF’s volunteering programs with a total in-kind value of $1.24M.
To date the Australia Business Arts Foundation’s volunteering programs have connected 1,260 business professionals to the arts with an in-kind value of over $9M.
