CBA Women in Focus IWD Celebrations Success

SPONSORED: The Commonwealth Bank initiative, Women in Focus, wrapped up its celebrations for the 101st International Women’s Day this month with a lunch in Darwin.
The lunch gave the local community the chance to hear from Nova Peris, Janet Buhagiar and Priscilla Collins about the exceptional outcomes that these women have achieved, and continue to achieve, for the NT Community.
At the earlier Sydney event, the Sydney Women’s Fund launched their new report, Portrait of Women and Girls in Greater Sydney, giving an insight into the circumstances, challenges and aspirations of Women in the Greater Sydney area. The research will help guide Sydney Women’s Fund long-term investment strategy to address the most critical issues facing women and girls in the area.
The findings of the report can be viewed at sydneycommunityfoundation.org.au.
Women in Focus worked with StreetSwags and the Hear and Say Centre for the Brisbane event raising over $5000 which was donated to the two organisations.
Women in Focus encourages women to share their personal and business stories to inspire others, celebrate achievement and to reach out and help others.
Women in Focus Conference
The annual Women in Focus conference will be held in Noosa from 22 – 25 August 2012.
The conference provides women across different industry backgrounds from both the ‘for profit’ and ‘Not for Profit’ sectors, the opportunity to come together to share experiences, hear from insightful speakers, and to form meaningful business connections.
The theme for the 2012 conference is Frontiers – exploring new business territories. The conference is for both Commonwealth Bank clients and non- Commonwealth Bank clients, however, is by invitation only.
Women in Focus is putting a call out to all Not For Profit organisations to submit an expression of interest to attend the conference. If you are interested in attending, email us at womeninfocus@cba.com.au and tell us in 100 words or less what frontier your organisation is tackling in 2012 and how connecting with 100 other business women will help you to confront this frontier.
Please provide your submissions by Friday 11 May 2012.
For more information on this conference, please check out the Events section of www.womeninfocus.com.au
