Corporate Philanthropy Expert Joins ASF’s Advisory Panel

The former head of the Macquarie Foundation, Julie White, has joined the Australian Scholarships Foundation’s (ASF) Advisory Panel.

White was the global head of the Macquarie Group Foundation for the past 11 years where she oversaw the growth of the Foundation to become one of Australia’s leading Foundations.

Paul Murnane, Chairman of ASF said: “We are honoured to have Julie as a member of the ASF Advisory Panel. She has a great understanding of not-for-profit capacity issues and is one of Australia’s leading experts in corporate philanthropy and community social investment.”

Murnane says ASF is solely focused on building capacity in the NFP sector to help make the sector more efficient and effective.

“It does this by providing scholarships for education, training and development to directors and staff of NFP organisations. Scholarships cover postgraduate degrees, mentoring, short courses and workshops in a range of disciplines and functions including leadership, governance, management, project management, human resources and marketing.”

Julie White says she’s delighted to join ASF's Advisory Panel.

“What they have built to support the education of the not-for-profit sector is truly outstanding," she said.

White joins Greg Hutchinson, Carol Schwartz AM, John Barnes and Melinda Cilento on the ASF Advisory Panel.

Now in its fifth year, ASF has facilitated over $3.5 million of scholarships and helped over 650 NFP organisations. ASF also recently launched the first Fulbright Professional Scholarship in NonProfit Leadership, sponsored by the Origin Foundation.
