The in-tray is on the way out with automated operational decision-making tools, doing the work for you.
Things that don’t require a huge amount of thought – routine paperwork, processing invoices, volunteer call backs – can take up a lot of time without the correct procedures in place.

An innovative Melbourne based company, called eBMS has created a system platform that automates how not for profits operate for less than $0.60 per day per user.

Says eBMS, “It’s less than the price of a lollipop.”

The system platform – which is already used by notable companies and city councils – can be customised for users, but eBMS sees real potential in the Not For Profit sector.

When each dollar an organisation holds is hard-won through grants or fundraising – an efficient system means money is not wasted on doing tasks than can be easy automated.

Says eBMS, “Many Not for Profit organisations can waste precious resources and funds by attempting the automation of decision and reporting through the use of spreadsheets, paper forms or outdated & complicated databases.  This approach can contribute to more disorganised processes, limited reporting and insufficient collaboration.  Most of all, it keeps people trapped behind spreadsheets for hours with limited transparency and no audit trail.”

The benefits of automation are striking apparent in the sector according to eBMS, “The further you can stretch your funding dollar the more you can offer your clients. It all comes down to helping Not for Profit organisations to do more, with less resources.”

If you are confused about whether a decision should be automated or not eBMS provides this guide:
“You should automate those frequently occurring, highly variable decisions and reporting requirements that often need to be made in real time, such as:

  • Location-specific decisions, such as eligibility verification, case management compliance, reporting issues from the field, etc
  • Client-specific decisions, such as service authorization, priority assignment or case management alerts, reports and monitoring.
  • Service-specific decisions, such as resource availability, management alerts, cost implications and client feedback.
  • Process-specific decisions, such as workflow routing, approvals, reminders and flexible reporting.”

If you are cash-strapped, or your funding is inconsistent – eBMS can look at your needs and tailor a specific package for you.
