A New Image for Fundraising Needs NFP Support

Three Queensland entrepreneurs are hoping to bring CardConnect to Australia – a fundraising initiative aimed at giving organisations the opportunity to add a new revenue stream to their current suite of fundraising initiatives.
CardConnect is a branded credit card program that has helped NFP’s worldwide not only increase their fundraising through receiving part of the revenue, but also provide increased visibility for their cause in the wider community.
Executive Director of CardConnect Rob James, says that in a time of economic downturn, donors desire to give does not decline but the means to give might.
He says that charities therefore need to create new ways to give that are high value to them but low cost to the donor.
Benefits to Australian Not for Profits
- New revenue stream to accelerate fundraising resources
- Continuous revenue source – “Set and Forget” style initiative
- No setup fees – FREE program
- Design up to five card designs that reflect your organisation
- Increase organisation awareness – as cards act as mini billboards
- Free online marketing toolkit to reach your supporters
- Supporters information never leaves your organisation
The program has been adapted from a successful model that has worked worldwide for over 20 years in countries such as the US, Britain, Canada and Spain, generating millions of dollars for schools, clubs and Not for Profits alike.
Rob James says Australian banks have shown a great deal of interest in this program and he is calling on Australian Not for Profits to register their interest in the card program.
How does it work?
For every person that signs up for the NFP branded credit card, CardConnect will pay an upfront commission as well as provide ongoing revenue. The more supporters that activate a card the more revenue generated.
CardConnect will help market the program to an organisation’s loyal supporter base through a free online marketing toolkit, to ensure the success of the program.
Success stories
In the markets where these card programs are offered there has been standout success stories. An example of this success can be seen in Canada’s most respected conservation organisation, Ducks Unlimited Canada. As a conservation of wetlands Ducks Unlimited Canada is heavily reliant on the support of its members and in the eight years between 1998 and 2006 their branded credit card program raised over $1,000,000.
