Melbourne to Host NFP Technology Conference

Technology and social media experts will converge on Melbourne in June for the Connecting Up 2011 Conference, which aims to keep the Australian Not for Profit sector up to speed with social and technological change.

Pro Bono Australia is proud to announce its support for the conference as the official media partner – which will see Pro Bono Australia News reporting live from the conference news desk, as well as pushing the conversation on social media.

The Connecting Up 2011 conference, to be held in Melbourne on 1-3 June, will cover topics including – CRM systems, social media, cloud computing, online fundraising, content strategy, website development, and ICT planning, among others.

Two creative and informative NFP technology leaders from the United States – Executive Director of Nonprofit Technology Network, Holly Ross and CEO of AspirationTech, Allen 'Gunner' Gunn – are the two main keynote speakers at the conference.  Ross and Gunn will also be holding an optional day-long workshop on June 3 focusing on technology leadership for sustainability.

Other notable presenters include: Darren Rowse (Problogger, web celebrity), Ravi Shetty (Google Australia), Clair Deevy (Microsoft Community Affairs, Asia Pacific), Mike Yeaton (TechSoup Global), Shai Coggins (CUA, content and social media expert), and Mia Garlick and Reid Elliot (Department of Broadband, Communications, and Digital Economy).

Connecting Up CEO Doug Jacquier says that in the new media world, Not for Profits and charities have more opportunities than ever before to take advantage of technology to cut costs and promote to their stakeholders.

Jacquier says the 7th Connecting Up conference is all about providing organisations and individuals with practical advice, useful tools, and amazing networking opportunities to connect with the best resources.

Jacquier says they have taken into consideration the feedback they have gathered from previous Connecting Up conferences, and will br bringing in some new and exciting elements to CU11 – as well as offering some of the things that delegates have previously enjoyed.
