Australian Not for Profit, Connecting Up Australia has announced a mutual scholarship program for Australian NFPs to attend the Nonprofit Technology Conference in the US in March 2011.

Technology-focused NFP Connecting Up Australia (CUA) has announced the scholarship program in partnership with the US based Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN).

The scholarships will see two Australian charity representatives travel to the US for NTEN’s annual Nonprofit Technology Conference in March 2011 – and two US charities will attend CUA’s Connecting Up conference in Melbourne in June 2011.

The scholarships include return economy airfares, full conference registration, and a US$500 contribution towards accommodation and meals.

Connecting Up Australia CEO Doug Jacquier says the program is an example of cross-pacific cooperation between the leading technology-focused NFPs in their respective countries.

Jacquier says that his own organisation has benefited enormously from the knowledge gained from overseas colleagues and the cooperative relationships that have developed.

Jacquier invites further contributions from companies and other donors to expand the program even further.
NTEN’s Nonprofit Technology Conference, to be held in Washington in March 2011, is offering attendees a chance to shape the conference program by voting on their favourite sessions proposals.

NTEN has received more than 400 ideas for sessions for conference – an increase of 75% on last year – and public voting is being used to narrow these down to the 100 or so that will form part of the conference.

Full details and a downloadable application form are available on CUA’s site at www.connectingup.org/nten or email scholarships@connectingup.org
